Menora Appeal 2024

Now, more than ever, we are relying on your spirit of community.

Message from the Menora Board

Dear Friends,

Our connection to our Jewish identity is felt very strongly. Currently, we feel vulnerable while simultaneously appreciating our deep communal bonds which help us through difficult times.

As a community, we have come together in countless ways to support Israel. We have shown what we can achieve as a collective when we have a common cause. We are a people who will mobilise to take care of our own.

Now, more than ever, we are relying on that spirit of community. We ask you to turn your focus to the significant number of vulnerable Jewish families here in Perth who are currently being supported by the Menora Foundation. Increased living expenses combined with a worsening rental property crisis have caused many families to fall into a place of great need.

The core services we provide include financial disbursements, social welfare and psycho-social support. Members of our community provide pro bono services including financial planning, accounting, medical, dental, household and automotive assistance. We also supply food baskets and money for the Chaggim.

We are an interactive, intergenerational and intra-community hub where we all work together to support those who are facing hardship. We have immense gratitude to our many dedicated volunteers who help us to generate income through our Woodrow Lane pop-up shop, but that income does not produce sufficient funds to meet the increasing demand for our services.

Therefore, we are writing to you to ask for your financial support to ensure that we can continue to provide the invaluable and vital services that our local community members so desperately need. We have shown what we can do for our brothers and sisters in Israel, but we cannot forget our Jewish community here in Perth who urgently need our support and care.

We gratefully acknowledge your past support and the vast impact it has had in allowing us to extend the hand of kindness to our vulnerable community members. In this spirit, we are asking you to please give generously to our annual appeal.

For your convenience, we have included a donation slip below with the details of how to donate, or you can donate online at Menora.org.au. Please note that all donations over $2 are tax deductible.

If you have any questions about this letter or our services, we would be happy to hear from you.

Please call our office at 9375 5059 or email office@menora.org.au.

Warmest regards,
The Menora Foundation Board
